Fix a Leak Week

I was listening to the radio this morning while getting ready for work, and I heard that the EPA had designated March 16th through the 20th as “Fix a Leak Week”. I thought about this a little more. Sure, maybe there are some groups out there that have attempted to push their agenda onto us by proclaiming some day/week/month as their own (Cheesecake Day?? National Kite Month???), but there are a lot of groups that have brought to attention many important messages we all tend to forget. Observances such as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and American Diabetes Month have helped many non-profit groups spread the word about their efforts to help others. So while some of these messages might be a waste of yours and my time, there are a lot of messages out there that can help to spread good intentions, and help us be more aware of ways we can make ours, and the lives of others, better. With that said, Fix a Leak Week reminds me that I can help save water with simple fixes around the home this week, and the rest of the year.
