It’s the Economy…..
April 14, 2009 · by Tammy Adler
Each day I pick up the paper it seems like I learn about more companies laying off workers, cutting benefits or both.
These are truly precarious times. Many wonder what lies around the corner. Months ago we began taking precautions by cutting spending, and freezing our education account and salaries. We took these steps to proactively align ourselves in the event some of our clients began cutting back on projects. At the time it may have seemed silly, but now we know it was a good move to make.
As work continues to slow down, my hope is those companies who strive to deepen their customer relationships and deliver quality services will be the companies economically damaged the least. I believe customer service is very important and I am hopeful in times like these customer service and trusted relationships are the glue holding companies together longer than those competitors we all witness who put little or no value on building long and deep customer relationships or delivering on their promises.
I believe there is evidence I may be on to something. Trusted relationships along with good service really do seem to make a difference and seem to become even more valued in tough economic times. We’ll see how things play out…
