Another CyberGirlz Technology Camp at UW-Whitewater
July 24, 2009 · by Tammy Adler
This summer, once again, QWANtify is proud to sponsor the University of Wisconsin Whitewater’s CyberGirlz Technology Camp. This FREE Technology Camp for middle school girls is held
July 20 – 24, 2009.
The camp is a hands-on learning experience for girls entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grade and is a fun and exciting way for girls to learn how to:
- Build a website
- Create a digital scrapbook
- Learn to animate objects
- Build a computer
- Turn digital pictures into a video slideshow
- Share digital creations with friends
QWANtify sponsored Kacie Conroy who, for the second year in a row, delivered her GET IT (Girls Educating Themselves about Information Technology) program. The program teaches, through roll playing, the different types of information technology careers available upon college graduation. To learn more about the GET IT program and how you may become involved in the program, please read the flyer.
Among other things, the camp helps promote Information Technology to young female middle school students. “We are excited to once again be asked to UW-Whitewater to be a part of their CyberGirlz Camp.”, said Tammy Adler,QWANtify’s President/CEO. “This year was particularly gratifying after one of the students’ parents approached us to say “thank you”for introducing her daughter to the possibilities an information technology career offered her daughter.Filed in: Company Insight Comments (0)
