The Recipient of Great Customer Service
August 4, 2009 · by Tammy Adler
Today, after grocery shopping in Sauk City, I was the recipient of great customer service.
After loading my groceries, I proceeded to Consumer’s Co-op to fill my car with gas. Many gas stations I’ve visited have horseshoe shaped concrete barriers at each end of their gas pumps, presumably an attempt to prevent customers from running into the pumps and causing a fire or worse.
Here’s where the great customer service comes in. The concrete barriers at the Consumer Co-op pumps have foam around them so customers’ are unable to chip car door paint or dent their car doors if they open them into the barriers. Sounds pretty simple, but I doubt I’m the only person to have experienced the phenomenon in the past.
The Co-op gets it. They recognize how a simple gesture turns into exemplary customer service.
